ROSEVILLE, CA (MPG) - Parent, public servant and small business owner Wendy Biel recently announced her candidacy for the Roseville City School District Board of Education, District 4, pledging to bring thoughtful leadership, fiscal responsibility and a strong commitment to academic excellence on behalf of students and families.
A Roseville resident since 2001, Biel is a proud wife of 26 years and the mother of five children, all of whom attended and graduated from Placer County public schools. Drawing on decades of experience as a parent, community volunteer, small business owner and public servant, Biel said she is running to ensure every student has access to a safe, high-quality education while keeping parents at the center of decision-making.
"Roseville has been an incredible place to raise our family, and our public schools have played an important role in that journey," said Biel. "As a parent, I understand the importance of strong academics, safe schools, responsible financial stewardship and open communication with families. I'm running because I want to help ensure our district continues to provide every child with the opportunity to succeed."
Biel currently works for the County of Placer, Community Development Resource Agency and previously served two terms on the Placer County Grand Jury, where she helped review local government operations and promote accountability and transparency. She has also owned several small businesses, worked in early childhood education, volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and remains actively involved in her community.
Biel enters the race with a growing coalition of local leaders supporting her campaign, including Assemblyman Joe Patterson and current Roseville City School District Trustees Jonathan Zachreson and Steve Lesch. Additional endorsements from elected officials and community leaders will be announced throughout the campaign.
"Wendy is exactly the kind of leader our district needs," said Roseville City School District Trustee Jonathan Zachreson. "As a mother with five children who have experienced our public schools firsthand, she has a genuine, long-term investment in the success of our district. Her experience as a parent, public servant and business owner gives her a thoughtful, practical perspective that will make her an outstanding member of the school board.”
Biel said her campaign will focus on strengthening academic achievement, supporting parents and teachers, maintaining safe and disciplined schools, planning responsibly for enrollment growth and ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed wisely. "I believe strong schools require collaboration, accountability, and leadership that puts students first," Biel said. "I'm ready to listen, work hard, and serve the families of Roseville with integrity."
